چکیده

In this study, Ethinylestradiol was removed from aqueous solution (maximum removal 83.1%) by hydrothermally carbonized and steam activated carbon adsorbent prepared palm kernel shells. The effects of varying mass, pH, temperature concentration on adsorption were studied. It found that pseudo second order kinetic model is able to describe well the Ethinylestradiol. Thermodynamic studies showed process mainly chemisorption as calculated activation energy for 60.4 KJmol?1. Adsorption considered take place between functional groups those molecule. characterization mesoporous with specific surface area 320 m2g?1, it had several oxygen-containing groups, defects in its graphitic structure (ID/IG ratio ? 2.2). Novelty statement: High carbonization temperatures (300°C - 600°C) followed high-temperature (600°C 1000°C) have been used prepare adsorbents over past decades. work, novelty lies lower processing temperatures. Hydrothermal realized at 200°C following 500°C will produce an efficient adsorbent, which shown study. carbonization-activation higher amount beneficial adsorption, decreases costs production.

Xylene removal from dilute solution by palm kernel activated charcoal: Kinetics and equilibrium analysis

Xylene is an aromatic hydrocarbon that is a highly toxic compound. Therefore, it is essential to remove this component from wastewater before discharging it to the environment. In this research work, palm kernel biomass was activated chemically by H3PO4 and synthesized activated charcoal was applied to separate xylene from aqueous media. The prepared activated charcoal was characterized using F...

Removal of chromium (VI) from aqueous solution by adsorption using cousinia eryngioides boiss and activated carbon

Adsorption capacity of Cr (VI) onto cousinia eryngioides boiss, activated carbon was investigated in a batch system by considering the effects of various parameters like contact time, initial concentration, pH, temperature, agitation speed, absorbent dose and particle size. Cr (VI) removal is pH dependent and found to be maximum at pH 2.0. The amounts of Cr (VI) adsorbed increased with increase...
